The Church of Saint Henry, Monticello, a Catholic parish of 1,100 families, seeks a part-time, 20-24/hrs./week, Director of Music. Successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of liturgical music who will be able to work with several choirs and ensembles who sing a variety of traditional to contemporary music. He/she will be able to inspire others to serve in music ministry with humility, to grow in their ministry, and find the experience of the divine in doing so. Such ministry will foster and sustain a prayerful, singing assembly, thereby serving the community in deepening its liturgical experience. This position will plan and coordinate all liturgies including Sunday Masses, Holy days, funerals, and weddings. He/she will lead some rehearsals and some Sunday liturgies and a majority of special liturgies and holy days. The ability to work well with volunteers of all ages and draw from a variety of musical resources to meet various needs and abilities will be important. Duties include coordinating and scheduling musical groups and planning an annual budget.

Qualifications include some education in music or a minimum of three years of experience in music ministry in Roman Catholic liturgy. Proficiency in playing the piano, organ, guitar or other accompanying instrument preferred. Skills in conducting a plus. Familiarity with Hispanic liturgy and language a plus.
