Job Summary
This full time (up to 40 hours) staff position manages accounts payable and receivable; does payroll and tax reporting; maintains mailing lists; coordinates reception, sales and distribution of mission group items; and actively assists in building relationships between the faithful of St. Cloud and our mission partners across the world. A good number-person, people-person, organizer, and someone with a love for the global Church will do well in this position.

Major Responsibilities/Percentage of Time
1. Manage all funds payable and receivable (50%)
2. Manage and process monthly payroll, all tax reporting and audit (10%)
3. Manage postal duties and communication for the office (20%)
4. Manage office space and reception (10%)
5. Assist with missionary outreach of the office and diocese (10%)

Description of Job Responsibilities
1. Manage all funds payable and receivable
• Bank deposits, Servant Keeper and Quickbooks data entry, process and release checks, bank statements, manage bills, international wires, etc.
• Prepare acknowledgements and receipts to donors
• Maintain missionary funds
• Prepare quarterly financial reports for our two diocesan partnerships and Board meetings
• Collaborate with auditor for yearly review
2. Manage and process monthly payroll and all tax reporting
• Annual sales tax, monthly/quarterly payroll reports and W-2 forms, monthly/quarterly HSA, monthly Retirement; audit preparation and data entry
3. Manage postal duties and communication for the office
• Help prepare and send cards of congratulations, sympathy, birthday, Christmas, invitations, announcements, etc. on behalf of the Mission Office
• Catholic Relief Services, Pontifical Mission Society, newsletter, mission groups and other mailings
• Manage email contacts with parishes and individuals: announcements, mission events, and other activities
• Maintain and update mailing lists (Servant Keeper)
4. Manage office space and reception
• Sorting and distribution of mission group items and other gifts
• Receive incoming calls and visitors, coordinate reception
• Maintain office and hospitality supplies and inventories
• Oversee maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of building
• Assist with the sales, ordering and inventory of artisan crafts and fair trade items; promote Fair Trade throughout the Diocese
5. Assist with missionary outreach of the office and diocese
• Assist with delegations to and from partner dioceses and welcome of other visiting missioners; including some weekend and evening hours
• Participate on committees, workshops and presentations; involvement in Mission Group meetings and Rally
• Provide assistance to foreign missioners as needed (VISA paperwork, insurance, license, mailings, etc.)

Qualifications to consider:
• Good organizational and computer skills (familiarity with Servant Keeper, payroll taxes, sales tax, w-2’s and varied data bases preferred)
• Warm and welcoming to all on the phone and in person
• Flexible, open-minded and able to adapt to new and changing situations, a collaborative spirit
• Self-motivated and willing to promote the Catholic Social Teachings and Solidarity based Mission of the Catholic Church
• Mission and Cross-Cultural experiences preferred but not required
• Willingness to continue/further education in related field

Job Summary: The Rural Life Coordinator will carry out Catholic Charities’ mission to families, individuals, and communities in rural area of the Diocese as directed. This position will assist the Director of Social Concerns and additional Rural Life Coordinators with community organizing efforts and providing support and resources to farm families and rural communities.Major Job Responsibilities:
o Analyze issues (social, economic and environmental) through the lens of Catholic Social teaching and provide analysis and support on issues to individuals through the diocese.
o Promote education and awareness within the diocese and collaborate to address concerns and issues, making action and movement for the common good.
o Organize, facilitate and empower a network of parishioners and clergy to carry out these goals locally.
o Coordinate and assist with planning of Diocesan Rural Life Celebration including securing a site for the event.Job Requirements:

Job Description
Department Summary: The Social Concerns Department challenges the Catholic and other faith communities throughout the 16 counties of the St. Cloud Diocese to put their faith into action by living the Catholic social teachings through a variety of programming initiatives, structured educational opportunities, anti-poverty and community development efforts and conversations throughout the St. Cloud Diocese.

Position Summary: The individual will work on ongoing Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) projects that are designed to break the cycle of poverty and support organizations working to alleviate poverty and its root causes.

Major Responsibilities
o Become familiar with CCHD and other resources and funding opportunities that are available for local initiatives that will focus on issues of poverty and social justice; meet with current and potential CCHD applicant organizations working on alleviating poverty within the St. Cloud Diocese.
o Assist the Director of Social Concerns in implementing a public education campaign to promote poverty education in parishes of the dioceses. This will include writing communication/education articles, and making parish presentations.
o Co-coordinate social media efforts for the social concerns department, including Facebook, Instagram, quarterly e-newsletters and action alerts throughout the year.
o Research and identify initiatives and programming in the areas of poverty and social justice and develop conclusions as to the feasibility and applicability of those initiatives or projects for local implementation.
o Attend National Orientation in Washington DC (tentatively May 27 – 29, 2020), and other conferences as Necessary.
o Participate in regularly scheduled conference calls from the national office of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to share project experiences and to reflect upon the projects accomplished in light of Catholic social teaching and reflect on personal faith experiences.
o Submit a quarterly work plan and final report and evaluation of the internship experience and accomplishments to the National CCHD office, as well as required by educational institutions (when applicable).
o Assist in leadership of social concerns department team meetings, using the EOS model.
o Assist in the planning and promotion of key social concerns events, such as the Martin Luther King Day of Service and Breakfast, JRLC Day on the Hill, and Parish Social Ministry Gathering.
o Participate in, including occasional presentations and logistics assistance, the Rural Life Leadership Development Initiative “Living Our Faith in the World” training series and cohort; help promote the Parish Social Ministry Certification program in the Diocese.

Skills and Characteristics:
o Student training toward a degree in Community Service, Social Work, Theology or a related field.
o Excellent computer skills.
o Ability to write clearly and creatively.
o Excellent communication skills as the position will interact with a variety of people both inside and outside the organization. Community Service/organizing experience helpful.
o The individual must be able to support the CCHD values of solidarity building, participation with the poor, and Catholic social teaching principles. The individual must also uphold and support the Mission, Principles, Values, and the Code of Ethics of Catholic Charities.
o This position will handle some projects independently and will work with intermittent supervision, therefore leadership experience is helpful.
o Interfaith and intercultural fluency, and willingness to work with and advocate for and with a wide variety of people a necessity.
